The overriding issue is what to do about the robots. How do we separate wealth distribution from wealth production, without becoming Venezuela. I hope @realDonaldTrump gets it. He is not beholden to Republican denial of the problem, or to Democratic identity politics.
Bold thinking will be required. Not having a job, not having work, is soul destroying. Like all stereotypes, the white trash, trailer park, unemployed heroin addict stereotype is not without foundation. Neither is the black, inner city, fatherless, crack-dealing gangsta.
No jobs are coming back from China. Jobs are disappearing and will only continue to do so. If Apple brought manufacturing back home from China, it would be to factories where only robots worked.
This is a bigger problem than all of the others, including Islamic Jihadism.
