It very well may be that Trump is crazy/incompetent/Hitler/racist/treasonous as they say. There is no way for you and I to know for sure really. You just have to play the odds. Myself, I am heartened. He is doing even better than I had hoped for, near as I can tell.

You have to understand that the media will never, under any circumstances, ever, say that President Trump has done something right. No matter what. Ever.

Given that, you have to calibrate how this unceasing barrage of negative propaganda affects you, and everybody else.

Trump is accomplishing a lot, and this is just the beginning. There is much more to come. He is not going to be impeached. He is not going to resign. There is no Russian collusion. The Republicans will do just fine in the 2018 elections.

As Richard Nixon would say, keep the faith.

Formula for providing universal health care:

1. Be a free rider on American innovation in medical technology and drugs.

2. Have America provide for your defense so you don’t have to spend money on that.

3. Take over 50% of people’s income in taxes.

4. Ration care. Have the government decide who gets what treatments when.

Voila! “Free” health care for everyone!

The pull of the dark side, death, evil, whatever you call it, is strong. I was listening on Apple Music, for old time’s sake, to the Jerry Garcia solo albums. Beautiful and dark. Jerry was drawn towards the dark. He sang about his own coming death. Not just Jerry, but the Stones, even the Beatles and Dylan, from time to time, couldn’t help being seduced.

We are all so drawn, I think. There is something seductive, beautiful in its own way, of the rebellion against the light. It is difficult to resist. It is the original sin. It is ISIS.

On my one and only ayahuasca journey, I experienced a vision of ultimate evil. It was like an infinite wall of images of absolute horror, death, and evil. My immediate reaction was shock and fear.

When I was able to gather myself and draw back, I was suddenly struck by how incredibly beautiful the vision was, in spite of being an avalanche of horror. As soon as that happened, it all changed, to the most heavenly vision imaginable. Beauty and love without end.

There is a raging cosmic war being waged for possession of our human souls. We ignore the reality of this war at our ultimate peril.

No one knows the #realnews. We’re lucky if we even know who our real friends are & who we’re married to. We swim in a sea of #disinformation.

More and more I can’t watch the news/commentary shows anymore. I, and I think many others, have been alerted, and can now see that it is mostly fake news.

It always was, but now it is much worse because of President Trump. The President is not shy about pointing it out, but it is so over the top, he almost doesn’t need to.

These people aren’t telling me anything. it’s all a bunch of crap. Why am I wasting my time watching this? These are the unanswerable thoughts that begin to intrude.

The scary part is, if it’s all fake news, that means we don’t have any reliable source of information about what is really going on. We may have opinions about this or that, but we have no idea what is going on, and even if we did, there is nothing we could do about it.

What we do have is our common sense, and our ability, based on individual experience, to judge a person’s character based on their public appearances. Thin reeds.

Everything else is just somebody selling something. Welcome to the information age.

This is what I think. There are a significant number of members of the Democratic Party, the MSM, and even the judiciary, who are actually trying to engineer a coup to overthrow the elected government of the United States. They believe they are the brave #resistance to the Nazi takeover.

They are crazy. It’s not going to happen, but there are enough people suffering from this delusion that leaders like Schumer and Pelosi feel the need to pander to them to maintain their own positions.

I am pretty optimistic that this insanity will backfire. Trump is gong to be able to keep his connection to the people, he’s gonna get a lot of stuff done, things are going to improve at home and abroad.

And It’ll be a long time before the Democrats recover, if they ever do. They might just disappear, and the Republicans split into two new parties, the Rockers and Mods.

If all that comes true, even I will start believing in my powers of prognostication.

I’ve lived in a used army tent, with a wife and three kids and a half dozen other people, in a Tennessee winter when the temperature was below zero, no electricity, no insulation, heat from a wood stove. There was no hot water. In fact there wasn’t even cold water until we thawed out the black plastic pipe on the ground that brought us our water, by bringing it into the tent by the stove.

So, even though I am not one of them, I know a little something about the people in the world who are getting the shitty end of the stick, the wretched of the Earth. Not much maybe, but a little something.

It’s not their fault. It’s really not anyone’s fault. And I know that things are better on Earth now for everyone than has ever been the case, but that’s not saying much.

What improvement there has been has been due to the free market and technology, both created, primarily, in Western Europe and the United States.

There is now enough science and technology to eliminate material want for everyone. But, as has always been true, the vast majority of the people in the world are, literally, delusional. Their minds are captives of bad ideas, like Communism, Jihadism, Sharia law, the Caste system, Scientology, and a million more.

There is of course a great deal of disagreement about what are bad ideas and what are good ideas, but I think we can all agree, no matter one’s point of view, that so far the bad ideas are winning. They are winning, and their fruits are war and disease and starvation and suffering.

I believe that Jesus Christ is our salvation, and that Satan, the Father of Lies, is the source of bad ideas. Others believe Buddha or Mohammed or Marx or Eckhart Tolle or Beyoncé have the answers. They are not all the same. One is true. The others are not.

I’m guessing, but I estimate that the percentage of those who believe that Trump is Hitler, or something just as bad as Hitler, is around 20%.

While it is a little unsettling to think that a fifth of your fellow citizens are deranged, the thing is, they’re not winning. They may be fascists, but this is not the Weimar Republic.

They are doing their own cause harm. When Robert Reich and MSNBC float the rumor that Milo Yiannopoulos or Steve Bannon are secretly organizing the violent riots against themselves, it is only plausible because these riots do really help Trump.

So there is no need to be too alarmed about the violent, insane reaction to the election. These people did not expect to lose power. It has come as a shock, and they are freaking out.

The good news is, they have lost power, and their freaking out is not going to accomplish anything.

It’s really going to happen. We’re going to have immigration reform, tax reform, regulatory reform, educational reform, law and order, a strong defense, and a strong foreign policy.

Quitting Facebook a week ago has brought me much peace. Occasionally I will lurk briefly, and it always tells me I did the right thing.

But then I wonder, am I failing in my obligation as a well-informed citizen, to do what I can to persuade my fellow citizens of the best way forward?

A fine sentiment to be sure, but there is zero evidence that I have ever been instrumental in changing anyone’s opinion about anything. So what’s the point?

The only other reason I can think of for facebooking, is to just be on the record. The record of course will later be used as evidence for or against your true colors, depending on how things turn out.

Facebook is making blogs obsolete, but a blog is actually better for the purpose of creating a record than is Facebook.The disadvantage of a blog, especially one like mine that nobody reads, is that there is no interaction, which, based on my Facebook experience, is not necessarily a bad thing.

Bring back blogging! Death to Facebook!
